Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

Cherry Reigns Supreme

Today have a 'popsicle'!
Summer is rapidly coming to a close but temperatures are still sizzlin' HOT! That being the case begs treats and snacks that are a bit on the cool side...icees, ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, cones, sodas, floats, banana splits and sundaes, frozen yogurt, creamsicles, etc. Of course, that is just the beginning of a really long list. August 26 is...

Kids love ice pops! So do adults because eating them brings out the child in each one. Two billion Popsicle® ice pops are consumed every year. However, the invention supposedly came about as a pure accident! According to the Popsicle® company, one cold evening Frank left a mixture of powder flavored soda water with a stir stick in it on the porch. Because of the cold weather outside, he awoke to a frozen treat on a stick. Read MORE...
Popsicle Registered Trademark
It is rather interesting to note Popsicle® is a trademarked name, not a generic term. Yet, whether bought in a grocery, convenience store or made at home, the icy concoction on a stick is almost always referred to as a 'popsicle' no matter what its brand may be.

For the occasion, you may enjoy whipping up some nutritional, homemade cherry 'popsicles' for your family. Here are some ideas...
