Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for...Frozen Custard?

Ice cream, yogurt, cakes and pies, all things good no one denies! Each can be served refreshingly cold, invitingly flavorful, rich and bold. Today's 'dessert' not yet said, even good right before bed.  Sweet and creamy- a real treat, for many it can't be beat!

August 8 is...

National Frozen Custard Day

Looks a lot like ice cream, doesn't it?

Do you know the difference between frozen custard and ice cream?
Frozen custard is similar to ice cream, but it contains egg yolks in addition to cream and sugar. Adding egg yolks allows to create a smoother texture and help the dessert stay cold longer. Frozen custard originated in Coney Island, New York in 1919 but it remained unknown to the wide public until after the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago, Illinois.
