Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

Peanut Butter...but not alone!

There just cannot be enough foodie days! Let's face it...everyday is a foodie day, especially if you have a sweet tooth! Then, to celebrate one of our nation's favorite foods and on our own add chocolate...what can be said? Bring it on!

November 20 is...

The love of peanut butter is nationwide. It has been a staple in American kitchens for over a century...peanut butter sandwiches, peanut butter ice cream, in combination or alone. It is not surprising for its day of celebration to pop up in the middle of November. After all, November is..., among other things, Peanut Butter Month! There will be more than 60,000,000 (60 million) pounds of peanut butter consumed during this month!

Let's not let the peanut butter on this day be alone...how about a chocolate partner whipped into the fudge!

A Bit of 'Fudge' History...
According to legend, the origin of fudge can be traced back to the 1800s when people used the word "fudge" to mean "cheat" or "mess up." One day, a chef accidentally "fudged" a batch of caramel he was trying to make, inventing the delicious confection we know and love it today.
Try your hand at making a homemade batch of Peanut Butter Fudge and it doesn't have to be simply traditional!

A great adaptive recipe...use a box mix, make completely homemade, add clean, salty taste of plain roasted peanuts, substitute honey-roasted peanuts, add chocolate chips and cut down on the peanut-butter chips...the choice is yours! Make it YOUR recipe!
