Along with the many, many foodie celebrations often appears a beverage celebration. Each beverage can be enjoyed along with a meal...breakfast, lunch, dinner, during an afternoon break, as an evening pick-me-up or a relaxing nightcap. Of course, its selection depends entirely upon the occasion. There are even those times when that beverage of choice provides a means of escape.
Really interesting though is the fact that most, if not all, somehow, somewhere end up in a tasty recipe. Are you ready to escape?

Piña Fria has music in its name; two fingers of cold fresh pineapple juice are blended with one and one-half ounces of white Puerto Rican rum and a half teaspoon of sugar. Shake with fine ice; strain into a champagne glass. [Source: History of Pina Colada]
