Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

Get Ready to Walk on Your WILD Side!

 for first foodie!

A day of triple celebration is upon us here @Awakenings. In fact, there are actually more listed on the National Day Calendar but three are being showcased...one a bit on the wild side and two for foodie fun. There is a chance this day can turn out to be a bit cra-a-a-a-a-zy!

April 12 is the day to...

When completing the research for this day of wildness, it was discovered that today is the birthday of Tiny Tim (aka Darry Dover, Larry Love, Herbert Khaury). Tiny Tim was an American singer, ukulele player, and musical archivist. He was most famous for his rendition of "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" sung in a distinctive high falsetto/vibrato voice.

Tiny Tim was definitely a bit on the wild side bringing side-splitting laughter to his audience, especially on his visits to Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in. In 1971, he brought John Wayne to his knees in the celebration of the 100th episode of Laugh-in. If anyone were to be identified as unpredictable, that was Tiny Tim!

So, today Be Unpredictable! Walk On Your Wild Side Day is a chance to do something no one would ever expect you to do. Today is a day to embrace your inner wild streak – wear something totally rad, out of the norm, maybe nothing but neon pink or chartreuse. Dye your hair orange for a day, or show everybody who ever said you can’t that you can. Be daring! Step outside the box if only for one day!
