Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

Forget the Dress Code!

 for foodie fun!

Another celebration for this day focuses on the silly, some might say unthinkable, and it steps away from the foodie fun into the realm of crazy fun. Depending on the extreme to which you take this one, it could even be classified as bizarre. As a final thought, it can simply signify completely letting go of stress. Celebrate and unwind!

April 16 is...
Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day

While it may not be practical to actually wear pajamas to work, it is something to consider since they are usually VERY comfortable. Actually,  what you wear to bed actually says a lot about you. Let's take a look and then you can decide...do I dare?

Something to think about...

Pajamas are a symbol of relaxation. They provide 'time out' from the clothes that bind us during the day, loose fitting and comfortable. This goes for the men, as well as women.  NO neckties, NO belts, NO heavy laden pockets! For women, NO bras, NO belts, NO high heel shoes! PJs are sheer comfort, soft, cozy and often, very silly. They spell freedom!

A Bit of History...

Derived from the Persian word meaning “leg garment,” pajamas have come a long, long way. PJs originated as drawstring pants traditionally worn in Southwest Asia, and were introduced to the rest of the world by British colonials. PJs started to gain acceptance in the Western world by the late 1800s. Since then, jammies have been transformed into the sleepwear garments that we know and love today.

Question is, "Do you wear your PJs in public?"

Relaxing the dress code is one thing but going to work in your PJs just might be an extreme. Of course, the deciding factor will be the right apparel that allows the luxurious freedom of lounging while earning a paycheck...without grossing anyone out or turning anyone on!

What your PJs might actually say about you...
