Religion & Remembrance

WOW! While it is not unusual for more than one celebration to appear on any given day, what a profound day of celebration is this day! AND believe it or not, what is mentioned below is NOT all according to All Your Holidays, Updated Daily! Of course, that is just one of many holiday resources on the web but certainly enough is recognized for one day's celebration.

Today is March 25 and ...
Today is Good Friday! Today is International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade! Today is International Waffle Day! Today is National Day of Celebration of Greek and American Democracy! Today is National Lobster Newburg Day!
With the highlight of today being religious and a time of remembrance, all other so-called celebrations may seem relatively mute, especially those designated as foodie days. This is true, of course, for those of us who consider ourselves of Christian faith. For as today is Good Friday, focus and concentration is on the Christian religious holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. Within the context of Good Friday is its observance as a strict fast.

 May this day have already been filled with precious moments of prayer, stilling the mind and calming the heart as you reflected on the suffering of one individual for the purpose of saving all mankind.
