Coconut Torte Day
Um-m-m-m? Sure looks like a cake! (Recipe)
Perhaps we should begin by answering a question: What is the difference between a cake and a torte? Simply put a torte is a cake basically of denser texture. Torte is a German word for cake. Cakes are made with flour (usually cake flour) alone, which tends to make their texture lighter. For the torte, some of the flour is substituted with almond meal or some other nut meal, even at times breadcrumbs. Easy to visualize now why the torte is heavier. Best way to enjoy this day is to eat cake...oops! I mean torte!
Now on the beverage! BTW You did notice I threw in one cake recipe with yet one more to follow!
