Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

Delicate, Chewy, & Crisp

Foodie fun for this day targets the sweet tooth and is filled with nutritional goodness! Main ingredient...oatmeal, which is truly beneficial for reducing cholesterol and maintaining a healthy heart. The combination of slow-burning carbs and fiber found in oats is a great fuel source for breakfast. Not into the full meal deal for breakfast...grab a few cookies along with a cold glass of milk! Yum!

March 18 is...
National Lacy Oatmeal Cookie Day

Florentine cookies: a crispy, lacy oatmeal cookie sandwich filled with milk chocolate
Oatmeal cookies are so darn delicious two days of celebration have been declared: National Lacy Oatmeal Cookie Day (March 18) and National Oatmeal Cookie Day (April 30). March 18 is the day when the old-fashioned, traditional oatmeal cookie gets skinny, thus, the relationship to being lacy is acquired because of the cookie's thinness. Oatmeal Lace Cookies are delicate, chewy, crisp, almost “toffee-ish” in flavor, and addictive. You will fall in love with these cookies.
