Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

From then...

“I never thought I would be saying this at my age but I do feel happier and sexier than ever. A lot of good things and bad things have happened during my life, which has been a roller coaster. But there is no better time than now. I live for the day, never think of the future and the past is gone. So I am always loving and living as if it is my last day.” ~Olivia Newton-John

Olivia Newton-John's life has not been without its share of upsets. In the early 90s, Newton-John received her diagnosis of breast cancer the same weekend her father died. She is a survivor and since has become a strong advocate for breast cancer research and other health issues.
Olivia Newton-John's single 'Physical' shines on this day in music history...

1982 Olivia Newton-John - Physical: 10 weeks at No.1
In the US, 'Physical' was the best-selling single in the 80s. The song was released about a month after MTV went on the air, so the video got a lot of spins on the new channel. In the clip, Newton-John is shown teasing fat men as they try to exercise in some kind of locker room/gym. The whole idea of the video as to distract from the fact that the song is about sex, and fat guys working out accomplished that goal.
Songfacts: You know how at the end of the movie Grease Olivia Newton-John transforms from a chaste good girl into a leather-clad vixen? She was definitely in vixen mode for this song, which if you are at all paying attention to the lyrics, is blatantly about sex: "There's nothin' left to talk about unless it's horizontally."

2010 Beyonce and Jay-Z were named Hollywood's top-earning couple by Forbes magazine. The pair earned an estimated $122m (£75.1m) between June 2008 and June 2009 - more than any other couple married or unmarried.
