Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

This Day in History: February 17, 1933

The comic strip Blondie, distributed by King Features Syndicate, has been published in newspapers since September 8, 1930 and later became a hit on radio, television and in films. It was on this day, February 17, 1933 when the marriage took place between Blondie Boopadoop, the tile role and flapper in the comic strip and Dagwood Bumstead, millionaire heir and playboy. Of course, Dagwood as we know him in the comic strip never became a millionaire and his playboy days ended when he met Blondie.
