Reminiscing over music of the 50s and 60s definitely brings Elvis Presley to mind. But, did you know Elvis was NOT the first to record "Hound Dog" during this iconic musical period in our history?

The best-known version of "Hound Dog" is a re-recoding of the original hit and did not hit the charts until four years later in 1956 by none other than Elvis Presley. In actuality, "Hound Dog" was recorded by five country singers in 1953 alone, and over 26 times through 1964.
Which is your favorite?
Big Mama Thorton - 1952
Elvis Presley - 1956
Later Elvis Recording
Little Richard's Rendition
And last but not at all least ALF!While he did not actually record the song, there were many episodes relaying his own encounters with one he considered nothin' but a hound dog!
Do you remember Alf?
Don't forget . . .
And the music goes on beating to the rhythm of the changing times...
