Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

Remember Their Sacrifice

There are not enough words to express the emotion felt in reading and/or listening to the poem below. The words of the poet are emotional enough within themselves.

On the eve of the anniversary of a monumental date in history, December 7, 1941 (Attack on Pearl Harbor), we should all stop and be thankful for the sacrifices made ensuring America's freedom remains intact.

A Soldier's Christmas by Michael Marks

"On Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th, 2000, Michael Marks reached out to a seldom-used part of his writing background to share a small word of thanks to the troops who sacrificed so much to keep this nation safe. That poem, A Soldier's Christmas, became an internet sensation and has appeared in newspapers, magazines and newsletters around the world as well as literally thousands of web sites such as the prestigious International War Veteran's Poetry Archive, run by the incomparable Anthony Pahl."
