Welcome to Awakenings
Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.
Who you gonna call? became a classic line from the now-classic sci-fi/comedy filmGhostbusters. It was released in theaters across the United States on this day in 1984. Ghost stories have always been fascinating but this one topped the charts!
Just as classic as the movie itself is its theme song which was a #1 hit for three weeks.
On the set, Dan Aykroyd referred to 'Slimer' as the ghost of John Belushi. Bill Murray's role in the film was originally written for Belushi, but he died while the script was being written.
Until the release of Home Alone (1990), this was the highest-grossing comedy of all time. It made $240 million domestically in 1984, which is equal to about $580 million when adjusted for inflation.
Out of the handful of iconic details from Ghostbusters, perhaps
the most memorable is the Ectomobile, a 1959 Cadillac ambulance
outfitted with gadgets and gizmos to help the guys bag pesky
poltergeists.
If by some chance you missed the movie, it is available on DVD!
