Did you know the first places to sell gasoline/petrol were pharmacies as a side business? That's right, pharmacies! The city pharmacy in Wiesloch, Germany was the location of the first gas/petrol station. In 1888, Bertha Benz refilled the tank of the first automobile on its maiden trip from Mannheim to Pforaheim.

ReplyDeleteWatching the first 'Back to the Future' movie reminded me. The car drove over the signal cable and four men came running out to serve the customer. I pointed and said, "I remember that!"
Thank you for helping us to take a walk back in time! Sometimes you just don't know why you are sad or what really is the matter until you take a walk back and see what you saw, say what you said, and then you know why you are sad. Once you know why you are sad, as you can now see what you were missing, you can come back forward and then you know why you are sad, and can once again surge on ahead. It is like mopping the floor and then realizing that you missed a spot, and so you go back over to that spot, and mop it too, and then you know you have done your job and done it well! Finished!!!
