Junk Food Junkie

Do you have an insatiable sweet tooth...the sweeter the better? Do you absolutely crave the salty along with the sweet? Do you love, love, love popcorn...perhaps the saltier the better never forgetting the butter, REAL butter? Do you load up on the salty fries or chips along with that greasy burger? Does a slice of pizza never seem to be enough with more, more, more sometimes equaling the whole 'thang'? In other words, are you a junk food junkie? Well, if you answered yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, then this day's celebration is definitely going to be the day for you!

The term “junk food” was initially used in the 60s but was popularized during the following decade when the song “Junk Food Junkie” reached the top of the charts in 1976.

This day's celebration is centered around eat more junk food...at least for one day! Indulge your favorite guilty pleasure(s) you normally pass up or minimize because of various reasons...mainly because too much is simply not healthy. Various junk foods have already been celebrated @Awakenings, so whether you Grab a doughnut or donut!, disprove Betcha can't eat just one!, snack on Golden Brown Tasty Loops, try A Gr-r-r-r-r-reat Combo!, have a Lollipop, Lollipop...Oh lolli lolli lolli! Lollipop!, eat a bagful of Jelly Belly Jelly Beans, dip into the Br-r-r-r Coldest Cold...NOT Weatherwise!, Splish Splash or Shake It Up...maybe both!, just enjoy any one or combination for 24 hours without the guilt of counting calories!

*The average American eats about 25 pounds of candy per year with almost half of that made with some variation of chocolate.
*Each American consumes about 45 slices of pizza per year.
*America's most popular candy bar is still Snickers.
*Creamy middle of a Twinkie = cream, no; Criso, yes!

*Hostess Twinkies are declared "The sweetest comeback ever!"
*The top five ice cream flavors: vanilla, chocolate, butter pecan, strawberry and chocolate chip mint in that order.
