Welcome to Awakenings

Life IS history in the making. Every word we say, everything we do becomes history the moment it is said or done. Life void of memories leaves nothing but emptiness. For those who might consider history boring, think again: It is who we are, what we do and why we are here. We are certainly individuals in our thoughts and deeds but we all germinated from seeds planted long, long ago.

Name it, Claim it, Eat it

Out of all the foodie celebrations today's should be at the top of your list. It is the icing on the cake, the filet Mignon, the cream of the crop, the top of the line, the best thing since sliced bread and it is all up to you to name it, claim it, eat it. It's almost like saying, "This is your day! Have it your way!" when it comes to food, that is. The key is to eat something you truly enjoy. It could even be something you have never had before but always wanted to give it a try.

May 11 is...
Eat What You Want Day

You really WANT that second, maybe third, slice of pizza!
There is silliness behind this day since for the most part, each of us pretty much eats what we want on any given day. Of course, that is not true for everyone since diet is too often governed by society and fashion. At least for one day, dieting can be put aside while you enjoy the foods you might not necessarily eat on a regular basis. This does not have to be a day to gorge on junk food but rather include your favorite breakfast, lunch or dinner menus. Hey! You could even indulge in all three!

~Recipe Time~
Here are but a few yumolla things that just might tempt your palette...

If you go for the Country Breakfast, don't forget the
homemade biscuits, country ham and red-eye gravy!

Country ham is salty so best to soak in buttermilk overnight!

Rather have bacon instead...lots of bacon?
