♫Music is within...♫

The message received from music comes from within. What strikes the heartstrings of one may not even emit the tiniest spark for others. So diverse are music styles adopted through the centuries that only by experimenting with different genres can listeners discern for themselves what appeals, or does not appeal, to their particular tastes.

Music in the 21st century is up for grabs. With so many different styles of music beating to the rhythm of the changing times, some are so ingrained they will never die while others made their mark only to fade with the passing of time. Not all music born with the times survives. But, with music comes freedom...freedom to enjoy listening to one's preferred choice whether for the energetic vibes, relaxation or healing. What one perceives as music is within...

There is one type of music, however, that dates itself before Medieval times, has outlived all genres finding itself still being performed by the best of the best musicians. This is not hip swinging boogie-woogie mainly associated with dancing nor your rappers who present a rhythmic and rhyming speech that is chanted nor the ever-present rock 'n' roll
It is classical...along with adult contemporary (easy listening) that will outlive them all!
The Influence of Classical Music on All Modern Genres is intense, specifically rock music. Many rock bands/artists adopted the Baroque period's bizarre style of expression (Prince, Lady Gaga). Rock bands drew inspiration from composers such as Bach, influencing the intensity of their music.
The Classical, Romantic and Baroque eras all influenced modern genres today. They were the foundation of modern music. From the classical we derived the chorus, a focal point of almost of song. From the Baroque period was derived the extreme character that we see in rock and pop bands. From the Romantic period was derived originality and artistic expression. All of these eras, popularized by Bach, Beethoven, Liszt, Mozart, Debussy, and many more, laid the foundation of modern genres. Each time you listen to contemporary music, remember where it came from. Read MORE...
