This Day in Country Music History: July 3

1980 "Honeysuckle Rose" makes its world premiere in Austin, Texas. Willie Nelson stars in the movie, about a touring country star, using the picture to introduce his song 'On The Road Again'.

 1982 'Any Day Now' takes Ronnie Milsap to #1 on the Billboard country chart.
 1993 Garth Brooks checks in at #1 on the Billboard country chart with 'That Summer'.
 
1993 Alison Krauss is introduced by Garth Brooks as she joins the Grand Ole Opry.

2001 Trisha Yearwood receives her first quadruple-platinum album, for '(Songbook) A Collection Of Hits'.
 2004 Montgomery Gentry collects its first #1 country single in Billboard with 'If You Ever Stop Loving Me'.
2007 Toby Keith's 'Love Me If You Can' video premieres on CMT.com
