Music: A Safety Zone

Music takes on many forms offering comfort in different ways to sooth, to brighten, to reminisce, even to heighten. On any given day one can unleash Music Memories, Embrace Music Memories, visit a Dark Day, enjoy the Oldies but Goodies & Then Some. Music goes deep. Tears at the heart, soothes the soul. Becomes a safety zone. Music is the key to creativity and is the language of the universe. Even when performed in a foreign language, the emotions of the melody makes it clearly understood. Feeling bad? Put on the music to change any mood of any moment.

On this day in music history, there's Music in the Air and a trio is Taking the World by Storm. First in the spotlight is a musician primarily known for calypso, but actually has recorded in many genres, such as blues, folk, gospel, show tunes, and American standards. Next is a trio famous for three part harmonies, collegiate appeal, and trademark candy-striped shirts who single-handedly revolutionized folk music.
