Ready for a COLD tastee-licious sandwich?

By saying cold, I mean br-r-r-r! fre-e-e-e-ezing cold! Right out of the freezer cold! Um-m-m-m? A sandwich? Yes, but without pickles, lettuce or tomato. Definitely ice cream. After all, there are many clever ways to serve ice cream! There are also the basics: cup of scoops, in cones, loaded with goodies as a sundae, in floats, over fruit, and of course, for today as a sandwich.

August 2 is...

What better way to celebrate the height of summer than with ice cream and a favorite of all time is the Ice Cream Sandwich! Get out of the sun and enjoy a cool, creamy treat in the form of rich ice-cream layered between sweet biscuit bases. Tastee-licious!
On the beach or in an ice cream shop, these sweet sandwiches are always delicious. Ice cream sandwiches come in many varieties. In their traditional form, vanilla ice cream is tucked between two thin layers that resemble chocolate cake. Other versions include chipwiches—ice cream between two chocolate chip cookies.

Variations of this delight can also be found in different countries. In Australia, the most popular sandwiches are called “Giant Sandwiches," while "Maxibons" are half-dipped in chocolate. However, the most exotic ice cream sandwiches might be found in Singapore where red bean, yam, and honeydew are all popular flavors. To celebrate National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, visit your nearest ice cream shop, grocery store or ice cream truck and get a bi-i-i-ig ice cream sandwich, maybe even a box full. Whichever you decide, just ENJOY to the fullest!
