Mousse it up!
National Mousse Day occurred on November 30 with the opportunity for Moussing the Pumpkin & More. Now you get to mousse it up again, this time the light, airy dessert boasts yummy chocolate! During the 1800s, chocolate mousse was a specialty in French restaurants and is probably the most popular mousse to this day. In the 21st century, it can be found in restaurants and prepared in home kitchens worldwide. Let's celebrate!
Why is mousse referred to as being "light as air"? Simple answer: air bubbles! Mousse is a light yet rich food beaten until airy. In French, the word means “foam". It is the incorporation of the air bubbles that gives it a light and airy texture like whipped cream.
