Mom-and-Pop

Small businesses play a vital role truly being the backbone of the United States economy. Many of these have evolved from 'mom-and-pop' status to an entrepreneurial force. When these suffer low periods, often even failing, the economy feels their economic impact immediately. Let's keep the creative juices of innovation alive by supporting the small business owners.
A recent report entitled “An Analysis of Small Business Patents by Industry and Firm Size” funded by the SBA documented that small businesses produced 16 times more patents per employee than large firms did. 16 times!
March 29 is...
National Mom-and-Pop Business Owners Day

Many mom-and-pop businesses began as husband-wife teams who put in long, grueling hours with immense dedication. Some took over simple sales and businesses handed down from generations past growing and modernizing along the way. Others emerged as new start-ups.

A lot of times shopping mom-and-pop means shopping local. These shops know their customers beyond simply the dollar sale. There is a personal factor involved, which leads to better quality customer service as personal pride shines in their operations and within their community.
Support the privately owned small businesses in your communities. Use #Mom&PopBusinessOwnersDay to post on social media.

Not only the husband and wife teams, but the brothers, sisters, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, etc. that join together in an attempt to better themselves and their communities.

Got an idea? Who knows...you may be the next success story!
It may be hard to believe that some of the most successful businesses today started out small time...yep! as 'mom-and-pop' businesses. Unique, some quirky, ideas blossomed into multi-million dollar success stories. What about the Wrigley Company? Would Walmart or Mattel be at the height of your thoughts? Maybe, maybe not but one huge, important question is probably right at the top, "What happened to customer service?"
