Want to make food look really tasty? Serve it up in a scallop shell! The shape, the size bring on thoughts of the ocean...seafood thoughts, that is! Fried shrimp, succulent lobster, baked snapper, crab legs, stuffed flounder, king scallops, queen scallops or a prawn cocktail...oh, my! Is your mouth watering yet? Well, get ready! The foodie celebration up for this day is getting scallopy by the minute! How about some bivalves on the half shell?
Scallops are a very popular seafood delicacy that can be found in all of the oceans and are a prized food source, plump and delectable. Being very low in fat, these meaty mollusks are delicious prepared in a variety of ways...sauteed, deep fried or in celebration on this day, baked! Baking them doesn't require much
of the butter and fat that otherwise go into cooking this lean, white
seafood.
