Reading in the Bathtub

If you think Talk Like A Pirate Day is the silliest day of the year, Think Again!

From the first posting of daily celebrations, it was inevitable for some crazy ways to celebrate to surface. I often wonder who comes up with such ideas and why????? Maybe just to allow a bit more humor into the day, a ray of sunshine so to speak. Who would not welcome more smiles, laughter and sunshine! So, as you Let the Good Times Roll today on Mardi Gras Day, below is just one of several crazies to also celebrate!

Read in the Bathtub Day
and this is not the ONLY day focused on "bath" time!
  • First, there's plain ol' Bathtub Day, celebrated every October 7th. We found a whole lotta very interesting info on this one – so much that it'll be needing its own dedicated post come October. (So be sure to come back and check it out.)
  • Then, there's National Bathtub Party Day. This one is simple and straightforward: Created by Thomas and Ruth Roy, it's an excuse to have a party in the tub, and is celebrated every December 5th.
  • And finally, there's Bubble Bath Day, the annual January 8th celebration which seems to have come about due to a greeting card company creation.
Need something to do for relaxation? Why not relax in style? Read in the Bathtub Day sends out vibes of disconnecting the phone, locking the door, picking out your favorite book and simply enjoying time for yourself. Create your own calming ambiance perhaps with scented candles, posh bubble bath and for the more adventurous – perhaps the rubber duckie to keep you company!

Before you head off for a water-filled read-n-soak in the tub (or a pillow-filled read-n-snuggle in the tub, for those who'd rather not risk ending up with soggy books), be sure to gather your reading material!

And you don't have to stay indoors...
