♫J.Lo feat. Cool♫

When it comes to Rap, you either love it or hate it yet it is undeniably one of the most popular genres of music to date. The History of Rap finds the term dating as early as the 15th and 16th century in Britain. In the US, it emerged in the black community in the 60s. At that time, rap was used mostly as a slang word meaning to talk with someone, having a conversation.
And the rest is history. What record companies thought was just a fad rapidly grew into the most popular music genre of this decade. Rap music’s beginnings were humble and focused on bringing families together and uplifting each other’s spirits in times of heartache and pain. Since its inception much has changed and evolved but the essence of its heart and soul remains. [Source: History of Rap]

Jennifer Lopez feat. LL Cool J - All I Have

Today's spotlight shines on a collaboration between an extremely popular entertainer - American singer, actress, dancer, fashion designer and businesswoman - and a hip-hop artist, author, actor and businessman. Jennifer Lopez, aka J. Lo, is considered by many as the "most ravishing woman in the entertainment industry" and also one of the richest celebrities. Her sensational dances have carried her musical talents to an even higher level. LL Cool J, "Ladies Love Cool James", debuted a successful mix of conventional song structure and pop-oriented rap to later follow-up with a popular ballad that became a hit on both the rap and pop charts. He continued to win over new fans with his projection of a tougher, more "street" persona. His success as an actor spans both the movie industry and television.

2003 Jennifer Lopez feat. LL Cool J - "All I Have" was a huge success on the charts, reaching No.1 in the United States (remaining at the top for four weeks) and New Zealand, and entered the top five and the top ten in several countries. The song is a mid-tempo R&B and hip-hop ballad, about moving on after a breakup and ranked as the 15th most successful song on the Billboard Hot 100 of 2003.
