♥♫Memories are Made of This♫♥

With Valentine's Day comes the opportunity to not only reflect on the past but also to add more wonderful memories to the diary of the mind. After all, memories are like our own personal history during which time we discover who we are, what we want. Think back to your first Valentine's Day, first love, first kiss. This could be the same person with whom you decided to share the rest of your life or it could simply be only a page in your diary where you have stored the memory but moved on. Whether one tender kiss, one night of bliss or one man, one wife, one love through life, your memories are made of this!

Today in Music History: February 12

Welcome into the Spotlight...

Dean Martin: best known for his comedic partnership with Jerry Lewis, as well as for his participation in the iconic Rat Pack

Steve McQueen was often referred to as the 'King of Cool' where his kingdom was Hollywood. In the music industry, that title goes to Dean Martin who is also regarded as a legendary screen and stage performer. As an actor, singer and comedian, he starred in several films with Jerry Lewis and belonged to the Hollywood clique "Rat Pack" in Las Vegas shows and in film, which included Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford.

Martin's biggest hit "Memories are Made of This" reached No.1 on the Billboard chart for six weeks in 1956 and became certified as a Gold record.

Tidbit of Trivia: After the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, the song was adapted into the "Honvágy-dal" ('The Song of Homesickness') and used as an unofficial anthem for refugees scattered around the world. Recorded by Ida Boros, it became a cultural phenomenon and a sign of protest against the communist government.
