THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND. A WEDDING.

http://awakenings2012.blogspot.com/2013/01/heart-of-america.htmlThe Heart of America featured a love story at Awakenings, January 28, 2013. Within that post are links to the original story, a way to follow daily thankfulness and a love story in 22 pictures. The account is one of many love stories which has endured the pits of hell as a result of war. A story of a returning soldier broken bodily but not in spirit...a wounder warrior. This is not just about a warrior but about what happened when that warrior returned home a different man having lost ALL of his limbs. Can you imagine what that would be like...no hands, partial arms, no legs?
When Taylor Morris, an explosives-detection and disposal expert with the U.S. Navy, stepped on a bomb in Afghanistan on May 3, 2013, his world changed forever.
Such pain is not endured by this one soldier only but by many of our military men and women. As for this story, many hurdles have been crossed but through it all the love continues culminating in tremendous celebration...a wedding!

After having included the love story in the initial 22 pictures, Awakenings presents...

Our wedding day was pure bliss!  We didn’t want the day to be overtaken by stress, a strict schedule, or the insignificant details. Don’t get me wrong the months leading up to the wedding we focused on the details and planning. We even made all of the decorations for the entire wedding but once our wedding day was here, we wanted to enjoy all the hard work. We wanted the day to be a celebration of everything it has taken to get to this day and celebrating what the future will hold. It was important to celebrate with all of our closest family and friends who have been our rock and support system for so long. And that's exactly how we would sum up the day, a joyous celebration with all of our friends and family!

Despite suffering horrific injuries, Taylor Morris maintained consciousness and
relayed information to his team leaders, earning him the Bronze Star with valor.

THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND.

Awakenings is all about America...My America, YOUR America, Our America. Our soldiers are trained to support and defend America... they fight to preserve pride and honor. It takes a vast amount of courage to stand up for America on the battlefields often splattered with blood and bone. Loss of life is the ultimate tragedy and all sacrifices affect family and loved ones for years to come. It is not a one-time event to be quickly forgotten: It is for a lifetime.
It doesn't matter where you are or what happens to be the occasion, if you see a soldier - veteran or presently serving, extend a hand in gratitude for the service he or she is giving so YOU can enjoy all the freedoms offered on a daily basis in America.

Salute Our Troops & Our Veterans,
Give them your support, They Support You!
