Not only is 2016 a leap year but more importantly it is an election year for the 45th President of the United States. The voting process did not just simply occur. It did not happen overnight. Within each month from now 'til November, perhaps some insight into the U.S. Constitution will enhance your knowledge and solidify your understanding why everyone should exercise his/her right to vote.

1845 First Tuesday after the first Monday in November is declared by Congress to be the day for presidential elections.

1933 20th Amendment It is ratified. Called the "Lame Duck Amendment," it specified that the President's and Vice-President's terms were to begin on January 20.

1964 24th Amendment ratified, a person could not be required to pay a tax to vote in federal elections.

Whether red and white and blue or blue and red and white, 
the colors are the same, a country of courage and might.
