Br-r-r-r! It's Co-o-o-o-old Outside!

There is much to be said about wintertime going beyond the fact that the weather is cold...really co-o-o-o-old in many parts of the country. With the cold comes scenery that can not be observed at any other time of the year...a winter wonderland.

At the same time, danger lurks around any corner, especially in the sense of being able to remain safe and warm.

This Day in History: January 28, 1977

History recounts the great Blizzard of '77 in numerous articles, books, and DVDs, such as The White Death and the Wrath of God: Buffalo Blizzard - Siege And Survival. In Buffalo, NY, temperatures plummeted to 40-60 degrees below zero with tormenting winds up to 69 MPH at the airport and average sustained wind speeds of 46 MPH.
