Even though the Kentucky Derby is months away, National Hat Day is the perfect time to take a peak at some of the wildest & craziest hats ever. The Kentucky Derby is a spectator sport with one eye on the horse race and the other on the latest hat extra-vagance and style. It is a time to test who can outdo whom!

The hat can be the most important accessory. It keeps your head safe from the elements, shows off your personal style and in some cases, especially the men, hides the bald spot! There was a time when a gentlemen would not be caught on the street without wearing the best of hats, whether business or a Stetson. For the women, one did not attend church without the latest in hat fashion!
