A 'Day' for Kindness

While it is a good idea to designate a day for kindness, it is most important to never let any day go by without showing you care…for the humble and meek, the weak and strong, from the youngest to the oldest, critter and creature, human or pet. What indeed is so difficult about being kind?

November 13 is...

World Kindness Day

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
~ Leo Buscaglia

The best thing about World Kindness Day is that is is absolutely priceless ... meaning it does not cost a thing. Nothing. Only a little bit of effort. Often, without any effort at all. Simple. Painless. Feel good all over kind of sensation. It overlooks all boundaries, racial or religious. There are no limits as to how much kindness can be extended in a single moment or hour. Just think kindness rubs off on others generating more kindness and the momentum of kindness keeps going and going and going...

Have you created a positive ripple effect of kindness lately? World Kindness Day is the perfect time to start. Here are a few clues:
  • No matter the location – restaurant, convenience store, shopping mall, gas station, coffee shop, etc. – tell the clerk to keep the change for someone who comes in that might need it.
  • See an elderly person waiting patiently to cross the street. Offer a helping hand.
  • Notice someone who appears to be sad and glum. Toss a smile his or her way.
  • You just might receive a smile in return, thereby, making someone's day a bit brighter.
