Ever met a grouch?

February 16 is...

At one time or another, each of us has experienced moments of grouchiness. We do not want to be bothered by anyone. Just left alone. In a terrible mood! Then, there are those who display the face and attitude of the epitome of grouchiness. Never happy. Everything's wrong. Leave me alone. Total misery! The latter are the ones we try to avoid the most...the habitual grouches, grumps, scrooges and sourpusses that somehow appear on any given day.

We even have own famous grumps and cranky characters...

The difference between these characters and the grouches we meet in real life is that these actually make us smile!

Oscar the Grouch enlightens children about groups from the greenest of grumps!

Maxine! Ah-h-h-h-h, the infamous Maxine. She simply tells it like it is!

Ebenezer Scrooge is the character of grumpy characters but does find the light!

Grumpy and Grumpier Old Men movies star two of Hollywood's most famous comedians, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. Hard to tell who is the grumpiest!

Dennis the Menace drives poor Mr. Wilson into a state of grumpiness unsurpassed by only a few.

Grumpy Cat has already been introduced and those above are but an additional few to which I am sure you could add your own! At least for today, you get to find a real grouch and pull that someone up by doing the ol' grouch a favor. Cheer that person down to the very soul for that is the last thing expected.

The challenge is on...

You are challenged to make that prickly, stern, cranky individual smile if nothing else...make him or her show the pearly whites! Go for it! You just may make someone's day or that person will walk away just as grumpy as ever. At least you will know you gave it your best shot and that, my friend, will keep YOU smiling!

“A Grouch’s mission in life is to be as miserable and grouchy as possible, and pass that feeling on to everyone else. Only then will a Grouch feel in touch with his or her world and be happy. Yet, even though a Grouch may show happiness at anyone’s misfortune (including his or her own), a Grouch would never admit to being happy. Such is the stability of a Grouch’s life: so balanced, and yet so unbalanced.”
