Recognize any of these?
Old photographs sure bring back a lot of memories. With time comes change and change is surely here. Not much left that looks the same as when it started. The basic ideas may still be pretty much the same but what a difference the years have made. It is always fun to go back in time and revisit those memories formulating in our minds the way they were vs. the way they are now. Of course, not all survived and a lot may be hidden away in an attic somewhere.
Which ones do you remember?
Or better yet...which ones do you still have?
As you go through the pictures, be sure to take a close look at some of the prices. Notice the names of characters that are still popular today but think about the mode in which they are projected now vs. in the past. Are there any that trigger a special time in your life?
Be sure to watch for links to other interesting sites & videos.
A quick look into the 70s provides a stab at some of the fashion trends... yep, that's the guy on the left outfitted in a leisure suit and disco shirt. The gals sported hip hugger bell bottoms. These were certainly Groovy Times!
The beginning of horror classics included...
The Wolf Man
Frankenstein
Count Dracula
Then came the television westerns and real heroes which led kids away from the comic books...
Long Ranger, Tonto & Silver
Hopalong Cassidy & Topper
Roy Rogers & Dale Evans
Gene Autry & Champion
Last, but by no means least, were the comedians. . .
Bud Abbot & Lou Costello
Red Skelton = Clem Kadiddlehopper
A classic blooper (or should I say "plopper") by Red Skelton
with Jack Albertson and a cow that wants to ad-lib.
Dean Martin, Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis
Of course, this list goes on and on and on but it would take too long and too much space to even attempt to list them all. And we haven't even begun to think about the music...that is a topic totally of its own. Hopefully these pictures and videos have brought back memories of a time when life was less complicated and more time was spent with family than on the phone!
I remember all of this. I'm so old!!
ReplyDeleteHey, that puts us both in the same age bracket and I do not consider myself as 'old'... just knowledgeable through experience :-)
DeleteBatman Comics...Wow... Miss my childhood days!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! I loved those comic books! :-)
