NATIONAL HUG DAY

National Hug Day or National Hugging Day: January 21

When our men and women of the military are deployed overseas, they must leave everything behind: home, family, friends, loved ones, even pets. It is a sad, sad day of departure completely filled with emotional hugs. Then, on the other hand, it is the happiest of days upon returning home, which is equally emotional. 

What better time to hug a member of our military than on National Hugging Day! According to Wikipedia, "National Hug Day or National Hugging Day is an annual holiday created by Rev. Kevin Zaborney. It occurs on January 21 and is officially recognized by the United States Copyright Office, but is not a public holiday."  

This day is supportive of giving a hug to anyone, anywhere, any time of the day of night. It is a means of showing emotion and is acceptable in public!
