Within the ancestry of each of us lies experience after experience deemed a success, as well as some considered a failure. With every walk of life comes a certain degree of risk plagued by the overarching question, "Will I make it this time?" Often this is even followed by "Why try?"
Why try, indeed? Because there is an overwhelming desire, a passion, to live a dream and the unyielding desire, the tenacity, to see it happen. Once the vision is established it takes a combination of passion and tenacity to keep the momentum going. The passion drives you to put more energy into achieving that vision than ever before, much more than is necessarily required. It goes beyond enthusiasm or excitement requiring commitment of heart, mind, body and soul. Of course, with every accompliment there are setbacks. The tenacity is that persistent detemination, even in the face of adversity, to never give up.
Are you willing to take the risk? What if you fail?

ReplyDeleteHi, I see your point. Taking risks, having courage, rolling the dice is a way of moving forward and growing as a person. I have fallen, failed, messed up but boy oh boy what I have learned makes up for it!

I just published my 3rd book, I have a internet radio show I co-host once a week, I've got a few gigs comming up in the next couple of weeks (one is a charity event) and I'm headlining one in Savannah,Ga. All this and I'm not sure whether I can pay my rent, car payment, insurance this month and next month is even worse. I should have a great outlook, I'm busier and doing more with my life than ever, but I can't get ahead or even with the bills. I don't have cable TV,health insurance, no smart phone, 450 minutes per month on my old cell phone. I have not had a full refrigerator or food cabinet in a year or so. I'm not starving because I eat at my Dad's house a lot. I'm not wanting sympathy or anything, just venting and answering your question as this post really brought all of this out of me.Thanks for the great blog and the great message, I will do my best to keep my chin up and move forward.

Sometimes it just takes the right moment to let it go. . .I do wish you the best, especially in the state of our nation's economy at the present time. My new book hopefully will be out next month. The marketing aspect has me totally stressed out! On top of that, I got the proof of my book today and it is 344 pages but put together in a 5 x 7 book. I have never seen or heard of such. All paperbacks I am familiar with (my own + others) have always been 6 x 9. It looks and feels really strange:>(
DeleteHi Sharla, I have failed (at least what I thought was failed) many times, but in retrospect see that God didn't consider it a failure, but an opportunity to learn. I still don't always remember to think that way when I really need to, but I try. I am a work in progress. In God's eyes I am a success, because I have made a difference to people, and I follow (as much as I can) His guidance. Thank you for another excellent post. I made me think.
