Destination FREEDOM!

FREEDOM RINGS!

The voice of America resounded in jubilation after the signing of The Declaration of Independence!

July 8, 1776, The Liberty Bell: A Symbol of Freedom

Liberty continues to herald freedom in honor of all who have sacrificed, are sacrificing today, or will sacrifice in the future for America.

Concluding Thoughts…

What is it about our flag
Old Glory, Red, White, and Blue
That symbolizes freedom
In a country, tried and true?

From then…

It was July fourth and democracy was born
America became the land of the free
Battles won solidified the home of the brave

Thousands of lives, both young and old
Will long be remembered and revered
As they lie silent in the grave

But silence is not what was heard
Throughout this nation and the world
It was a bell chiming that roared

The lasting rights and freedoms
Valued by people the world over
Throughout America soared

'Til now…

For us, gratitude resounds with tremendous joy
As family and friends gather around
Paying homage to all who sacrificed and died

From the shores of Normandy
To America’s Liberty Bell Center
Freedom rings with immense pride

Let us never forget…

Each year as flag after flag is raised and praised
Oh say, does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and home of the brave!

  1. Sharla, Thank you for this wonderful tribute to our nation and to those who serve. I especially liked the scripture that you included, and the quotes from our founding fathers and leaders after that. God bless the USA! USA, bless God! Deirdre (www.deirdretolhurst.blogspot.com)

  2. Sharla, words can't aptly describe this beautiful tribute to our country's celebration of freedom--fought for so hard with so many lives lost. Yet this tribute is upbeat, making the fight worth the price. I love the quotes from historical figures as well as the biblical ones. Posting this today was both an act of patriotism and love. May we never get so apathethic that we lose this hard fought for freedom.

    1. It is truly ironic you made the last comment. I made a similar comment to my husband today. Granted we live in a very small town but I was heart broken, really appalled, that I counted only three American flags along main street. I fear the day will come when that liberty may no longer be ours! I hope I am wrong. May God continue to bless America!

    1. If we don't, I fear America will no longer be the America as we grew up to know it!

  6. Sharla thank you for crossing over the biblical and political sort of speak with honoring those that serve and died for our freedom. I am a loyal RED, White and Blue American who desparately loves her country. I get mad at it, cuss it, love it and talk about it-all adding up to Freedom!

Thank you so much for the dramatiszation through photos.

    God Bless The USA!
