Recently ...Inspired, Sharla! And very much needed. <br />Recently I have been visiting schools with my newest book. There are very strong themes of abuse, prejudice, loss of freedom and standing up for what you believe in this book. They have resulted in amazing conversations in the classrooms! These kids are smart. World-savvy. All they need is to be re-introduced to the idea of freedom and they embrace it completely. Bring it to their attention and they latch on. That is what we need to be doing. Bringing the idea to everyone's attention. You are right. We take so much for granted. We have to keep bringing the idea of freedom to the forefront of everyone's thinking . . .
